I designed a product using Figma called Warm Rest and designed its UI and content.

Scroll below to see how I crafted the tone and voice of Warm Rest and its branding.

Introduction

Imagine a scenario where a psychiatrist mechanically prescribes sleep medication devoid of any empathetic connection, offering a solution without conveying the understanding of how it may truly benefit you. Such an approach, lacking pathos and ethos, could feel unsettling, as individuals facing challenges seek a solution and a compassionate voice. With this philosophy in mind, I meticulously crafted the Warm Rest website to embody an empathetic voice and tone across all content. Recognizing the sensitivity of health issues, I ensured that every user interaction with the website felt supportive and reassuring.

The problem

Users with sleep issues seek remedies to their problems by browsing online products. These users expect minimal friction as they investigate which product suits their specific needs and goals for living a better life. The challenge here lies in crafting content that seamlessly guides users to address their sleep issues and builds trust with the organization and its product. Recognizing that users may not immediately consider consulting a therapist or psychologist, providing options on Warm Rest that empower them to conduct research and comprehend their symptoms will allow them to make decisions they can trust.

Goals Warm Rest would achieve:

  • Create clear, engaging, and accessible content to enhance the user experience

  • Employ a warm and empathetic tone and voice for users struggling with sleep issues

  • Provide a sleep questionnaire to engage users into the conversion flow

The solution

To address this challenge, I employed warm and empathetic design choices and communication throughout the website, fostering trust and friendliness in the user experience. An illustrative example is the Getting Started page, strategically employing vibrant and tranquil colors, soothing visuals, and user-friendly design to relax and uplift users.

The Call-to-Action (CTA):

This CTA leverages rhyme and rhythm, weaving a narrative that establishes trust and empathy with users as they embark on their journey toward sleep recovery upon encountering the website.

Simultaneously, the strategically placed buttons—such as Schedule a Visit, Sleep Quiz, and Learn More—serve as navigational avenues for users throughout their journey on the website, offering resources for them to learn more about sleep issues and remedies Warm Rest offers.

The outcome

Creating the necessary content for the Warm Rest website allows users to feel they can access the necessary content, questionnaires, hyperlinks, and more needed to achieve their goals. By adhering to a standard tone and voice throughout the content, users can trust and feel supported by Warm Rest every step of the way.

In a real-world scenario, UX writing and design success would be gauged through surveys administered after users complete the sleep quiz, user conversions to the product, and recovery rates.
